Wednesday

We did not wake till late,and jet lag raised its ugly head.We mobilized and made our list.We had a minor issue with chargers for iPhone and iPad.I emptied my suitcase twice…not there.I finally found it in my travel crossbody purse,da!

After coffee and some local Spanish/cheese pastry at a Small shop in our hood we headed off to work through our listMore challenges finding a drug store for sunscreen etc(30 degrees),larger cream rinse etc.Next a grocery store for a few supplies for our next train trip.WE delivered them back to our hotel room.

Our long walk to the train station quickly got converted to another tram ride due to the heat.Next chore was SIM cards,as we had not found an open Lebara shop for SIM cards.Our first shop on Tuesday was permanently closed!WE found one near the train station,got our SIM cards,new numbers and instructions and off to a coffee shop to celebrate!!But they did not work,so back we went for some guidance,but the issue of texting from my new number was not working!A new challenge for we technology dinosaurs without the assistance of our children!

Our next challenge was to book our train tickets to Nuremberg, thus back to the train station…and take a number.We have Euro rail passes,and needed to activate them.We reserved our seats and booked the train.We felt we had had a successful day,and another tram ride back and located our next dinner site.After another shower to remove some of the sunscreen,we headed out to eat.

This meal was finally the sausages ,fries and sauerkraut.and more beer.On our way home we encountered a bombed Jewish Cemetery,that had dated back to the 17 hundreds.The wall was rebuilt and used with plaques as a monument.

Heading to the dinner we noted NO biking helmets,a large system of scooters,that were just left on the sidewalks and activated with use of iPhones and credit cards.

There is a large Muslim population, which preceded recent migrations.But we have found people very pleasant and trying to be helpful even with the language issue.I now have a semi functioning iPhone and may try my translate app.

Tomorrow’s chore is trying to find an Apple store to find an easy solution to the texting issue,as my ability to text Michael was one of the big reasons to get these new SIM cards.
