THURSDAY

THIS WAS OUR FINAL DAY in Frankfurt.Our chores for the day were to find a bank(Rick Steve’s says to only use bank ATM as the street ATMs charge a small fortune…at least one BEER!!;and go to the Apple Store.

Using the trusty trams,off we went.Our German is still a communication challenge,but we did find the bank in the area around most of the fancy hotels….and the Fifth Avenue of Frankfurt called the Ziel.Name any store brand. And it was there,even Lulu Lemon!

Next was the Apple Store and someone who spoke very good English and handled my phone like a pro.He identified that the problem is with Lebara,the mobility company we used to purchase our SIM cards….stay tuned for the next chapter…their HELP line.

A bus tour followed. It was 30 degrees,so the top of the double decker was not an option.WE heard the text,but our view was limited.

After a rest and showers,we headed out for the night.We spent the evening at the New Old Town.THis area was destroyed in WW2,and rebuilt to resemble the Old Town.

In the shadow of St.Nicholas Church is The Fountain of Justice.This is part of New Old Town and in the center of the plaza.Th the site of the Book Burning in 1933.In the background is the reconstructed old town chapel.

We had dinner,more liquid refreshments and a walk home.WE have seen a few Rottweilers and they have put Michael on edge.

And back to the hotel to organize for tomorrow’s train trip.
